1964 Ford:
I finally have the hull sitting on the chassis as a reference point for moving the rear wheel openings forward 15 inches. I am honing my metal shaping skills as I have the left side wheel opening fabricated and I am about half done with the right side opening. (along with doing rust repair, I finally just looked at the rust issue as practice makes perfect)
Once I get the rear wheel openings fabricated the next step is to start on the stubbing out the front frame and setting up the front straight axle suspension, still sorting that out in my mind.
You always have to keep thinking down the road on the project and I have came to the realization I am going to have to salvage the hood, front fenders and trunk lid. I was wanting to replace them due to the rust, though a year later I still cannot find any 1964 body parts or even a parts car.
So, I will just continue on and figure it all out as I go.

Well, I would like to talking about the 2020 racing season, but that did not happen, the cars never left the shop and have been sitting under plastic as we all wait tor 2021. As for the 2021 I have a few plans, but nothing to talk about as the coronavirus will dictate what I do in 2021. Hopefully by the first of the year there may be some good news on a vaccine for the virus, until a vaccine happens and the virus is brought under control there will be no racing for my team, so we just wait like everyone else.
In the meantime I have pretty well fixed and built everything I could think of around my house and shop. Now that all that is done I can focus on my shop project to keep me busy until I decide it is safe to go racing again.
The project, I bought a 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 a couple of years ago with the thought It would be a good rat rod. I got it running and driveable and then decided that was not for me. The fate of the car will be straight front axle, altered wheelbase gasser.
That is easy to say, sounds like a lot of work and that is where most projects die, all talk, no action.
So current status as of 11-8-2020, well, let's see, chassis and main body hull have been acid dipped, the front of the frame has been cut off to stub out for the straight front axle (which is on one of the workbenches in my shop), the chassis has been shortened 15 inches with the rear section of the chassis narrowed 11 inches so that I can get 15 inch wide tires under it.
After shortening and narrowing the chassis I think that is the heavy lifting part of the project as everything else that will be done to the body and chassis is referenced off that work. I have a narrowed rear end under it, so I am making progress. The next step is to the get the main hull primed and set on the chassis, after that I can start on the front stub and straight front axle.
Check back every so often to see the progress. Dale,
